Capacity analysis

The capacity analysis gives you a benchmark for the IO efficiency of the application that accesses an oracle database. This benchmark is not about hardware but expresses how effective the database is used by the application. As a consequence, the benchmark gives you also an indication how much performance tuning is possible with software changes.

The capacity analysis report is available in the short form that gives the actual benchmark figure only. The full form includes details about the critical issues identified.

Several use cases can be covered with the capacity analysis:

• The short report can be used as part of a KPI/benchmark driven quality improvement program.
• The full report gives developers information about the critical issues. Knowing hands will be able to tune those critical issues.
  Please note that the report does not give advices how to solve the issues. I offer tuning advices as separate product.
